A year in Manhattan without lattes, elevators or new shoes? Apparently it can be done. NO IMPACT MAN, Colin Beavan and his wife, Michelle Conlin, bravely went where no New Yorker (at least by choice) has gone before. Their film follows this family of three (baby daughter included) for one year on an incredible, funny, honest journey as they go, sometimes reluctantly, to the ends of the earth in attempt to save it.
Friday 9.11 and Saturday 9.12, Colin & Michelle will attend the 7:20pm shows of NO IMPACT MAN to discuss their unusual experiences, their struggles and bonds and the hopeful impact of no impact.
Director Amin Matalqa will host special Question & Answer events following the 7:15pm and 9:55pm shows of his latest film CAPTAIN ABU RAED on Friday, Aug 14 and Saturday, Aug 15 at the Angelika New York. “A glimpse into the Arab world that doesn’t focus on war or fanaticism, Captain Abu Raed reveals a Jordan that few Western viewers have ever seen.“ Read the full NPR piece
